Me and my son found this little place nestled in the treeline across Battle Lake. So we rowed our dingys over to check it out. Quite a cool bit of history here. There was a battle with two native tribes here that were equally matched and the battle ended over something as simple as a forgotten mistake between two Cheifs. So both tribes had decided to take a rest after days of fighting. The one Chief pulled out his peaceand started to puff on it when he notice his rival Chief had pulled his peace pipe out but only to find that it was broken. So the one Chief walked over to the other Chief and offered a puff to him. Reluctantly the Chief hesatated for a moment then had a few puffs. Well guess what happened next folks? In Native cultures when two people smoke off of the same peace pipe they are sworn to be at peace with each other. Hence the stopping of this trecharous battle between two of the Greatest Tribes this Province has ever seen. Too bad my phone died right after I took the third pic :( There were some other great pics I so wanted to take here. I couldn't believe how peaceful it was here.
